Mathai Supermarket Cashier Steals Sh 1.8 Million

Mathai supermarket, Ruiru branch chief cashier, Helen Nyokabi Nyakinyua was last week arraigned before a Thika court after she was charged for stealing Sh1.8 million from her employer. 
Nyakinyua is alleged to have stolen the money on August 6th. The cash was a one week collection which she should have banked at the end of the week but failed to.
The supermarket chain has several branches spread across Central Kenya with the main branch in Thika town. 
The cashier appeared before principal magistrate BJ Ndeda where she denied all charges. The prosecutor applied for the accused to be remanded at the Ruiru Police Station to allow further investigations.
